How to choose a technology partner
The right partner builds you an asset; the wrong one builds you a liability you pay to rebuild. Here’s how to tell them apart.
Look for real engineering, not templates
Anyone can assemble a template. A real partner writes software you own, that is fast, secure and maintainable. Ask whether the work is custom-built — and whether you keep the code.
Questions worth asking
- Will I own the code, domain and content?
- How do you handle security and data protection?
- Can you show real, working products you’ve shipped?
- What happens after launch — support, updates, growth?
- Who actually does the engineering?
Red flags
- Vague pricing with no clarity on what’s included.
- You don’t own the result, or it’s locked to their platform.
- Security treated as an afterthought.
- No verifiable track record.
What sets a deep-tech partner apart
A genuine engineering company — with patents, recognition and live products in production — brings rigour a template shop can’t. You’re not buying a website; you’re buying judgement, security and longevity.
